How we work
Every term, in plain English. Before you pay a cent.
Most website horror stories are really contract horror stories — vague scope, surprise invoices, hostage sites. So here's exactly how we work: the money, the revisions, the ownership. The signed agreement you'll receive says the same things this page does.
The path
Six steps. Zero ambush.
- 1
Tell us what you need
Two minutes on the start form, or a free 20-minute call. Rough answers are fine — we ask the right questions.
- 2
Proposal + agreement
A fixed-scope, fixed-price proposal with the full written agreement attached. Everything on this page, in writing. Nothing starts until you've read and signed it.
- 3
Deposit starts the clock
50% down and we're building. The other half isn't due until your site is finished and standing on our staging servers for you to see.
- 4
Design & build
Hand-coded on a private staging link you can watch evolve. Two full revision rounds included; changes beyond scope get quoted in writing first — never billed by surprise.
- 5
Balance, then launch
You approve the finished site, settle the balance, and we take it live — DNS, SSL, analytics, search engines, the whole checklist. Clean and predictable for both sides.
- 6
Cared for, month to month
Hosting, backups, security, updates, and SEO hygiene under a care plan — cancel anytime with 30 days' notice and take a full export with you.
The terms
What the agreement says. In one screen.
Fixed scope, fixed price
The statement of work lists exactly what's included — pages, products, languages, deliverables. The price attached to it doesn't move.
Clear money, both directions
50% deposit to begin, balance before launch. You always know what's been paid and what unlocks next. Card, ACH, or Zelle.
Changes quoted in writing
New ideas mid-project are welcome — they get a written quote, and work only starts after you approve it. Verbal maybes never become invoices.
Two revision rounds included
Per deliverable, with consolidated feedback. Enough for every project that comes with an opinion; more rounds are simply quoted, not smuggled in.
30-day fix window
After launch, anything that doesn't work as specified gets fixed free for 30 days. Defects are our problem, not your surprise.
You own it. Fully.
On final payment the design, code, and content are yours. Leave whenever you like with a complete export — files and database. No lock-in, ever.
The full agreement arrives with your proposal
Two pages, plain English, plus a one-page statement of work naming exactly what you're buying. Read it, question it, then sign it — work begins only after both of us have.
Questions
Fair questions. Straight answers.
How does payment work?
50% deposit to start, balance before launch. Fixed price, agreed in writing before any work begins. Extras are quoted in writing and only billed after you approve them — no surprise invoices, ever.
Who owns the website when it's done?
You do. On final payment, the design, the code we wrote for you, and your content are yours. If you ever leave, you get a full export — files and database. No lock-in.
How many revisions are included?
Two full rounds per deliverable — a round being one consolidated list of changes. Most projects never need a third; if you do, it's quoted in writing before it's billed.
What happens after launch if something breaks?
Every build includes a 30-day fix window: if something doesn't work as specified, we fix it free. Day-to-day care — hosting, updates, security, monthly changes — is what care plans are for, month-to-month and cancel-anytime.
Terms you can read before you commit.
That's the whole pitch. Start with the two-minute form — a real plan comes back within one business day.
